When you go to the gym and lift bench press it’s important to know what you’re doing, especially if you have a lot of weight on the bar. Do you use overhand grip or suicide? And what are your thoughts on both?
Been using suicide for 2 decades, no issues so far, more due to good luck rather the good practice though. But after viewing this vid, a long overdue revision wouldn't hurt (not as much as him anyway).
He'll sound like Don Corleone for a while, me thinks.
I used to suicide grip all the time, felt stronger and better on my wrists. Then I started seeing a few vids pop up of people dropping the bar, and after seeing this one I switched to normal grip. + you can squeeze the bar a shit tonne harder with normal grip.

I admit that I've always used the suicide grip, feels more comfortable and can actually lift more weight than with regular grip, also helps me mentally to target the pecs.
At the last Ptc Sydney comp a guy was benching and dropped the bar on his chest with normal grip. He came out ok but still had a good number on the bar.
