Pre Workouts for Cardio?

Would pre workout supps like NO Xplode and Jack3d be beneficial for cardio exercise? I don't really see how Nitric Oxide would help cardio exercise...

If you follow the directions on the tub, you'll see NOXplode is taken everyday, so do that.

Personally, I don't, you build up a tolerance to the stuff fairly easily, example I have only been taking it for 6 weeks now, and in 6 weeks to have the same effect, I have had to double my serving sizes, so your best to just save it for your weight sessions only.

Good luck.

I believe you will find the general concensus on here is that preworkouts with caffeine are not good for anything.
I think noobs did a thread on caffeine if you want to check it out.
Fadi is against it also, with a bunch of justification in another thread.

That said, I don't think many people like traditional cardio either...but I think they are a little more forgiving on that :p
If you want some awesome cardio, join the 100 burpee comp in the general section ;)

These supps also have other ingredients like creatine which need to be taken everyday.
READ THE LABEL. Then have sufficient time off so tolerance is not assumed.

Yeh I would use a pre-workout for cardio, it will give you more energy physically and mentally. Beta alanine is very useful for removing lactic acid build up in your muscles during exercise.

I always cycle my preworkouts and if possible its better to go from beta alanine based to nitric oxide based. Jacked is hectic, so is assault and no shotgun.

I didnt understand much of that,

why would you cycle your pre workout supplements?

This week imtaking vitmain c next week im going to take vitmain b3,

By cycling them I find that I can minimise my tolerance. When I take just one for ages I find I build up tolerance and lose the intensity from it. So yeh I probably swap every 2 or 3 weeks.

But what are you taking in regards to building a tolerance, and how are you measuring your tolerance?

amino acids dont just stop working..

Perhaps a lot of it is psychological. But a lot of products like jacked have stimulants in them that are more than just beta alanine or arganine. Its these other stimulants that I imagine I build the tolerance for if I take it for too long of a period. I find with most pre-workouts I have to up the dosage to feel the same intensity.

On a side note, I am wondering, I thought you did build a tolerance (or diminishing returns) from aminos (e.g. creatine) and that was the purpose for cycling.

I know you will laugh but I heard a guy in the gym go so far as to say he feels the effect of taking protein powder is diminishing - so he cycles it. (the dude is a giant)

Have you thought of the affects of these stimulants on your CNS?

As for the giant... Good shirt he may be able to purchase online..

15) Play With The Protein
Did you know reducing your protein intake that to .6 grams per pound of bodyweight for 4 consecutive days out of the month might be helpful? During the shortfall, the body “fights” to protect its muscle by releasing enzymes and messengers that oppose muscle loss. When you return to a higher protein intake, the body overcompensates and retains more protein for added growth.

A quote from your old mate Shrek - seems at least on some level he would actually agree with mr giant in the gym.

You were talking about cycling 2-3 weeks.

I always do the caffeine before a cardio workout, i don't see why a nitric ox product would be better?
