Ice for trauma, reducing swelling.
Heat for increased blood flow, promoting recovery.
Crossfit science can be retarded at times. Didnt watch the video.
I've watched on discovery channel that heating and icing could hand in hand to help your muscle recover from stress. It actually worked on athletes used on that study. They let the athletes train heavily, then afterwards, they let them soak themselves in a warm tub for about 30 minutes. After that, they bathe with called water and then they went on to train again and according to their testimonials, they actually felt that they were replenished after that warm then cold soaking.

Yes this statement is true, my sister is a Physiotherapist and she always remind me of that as the first aid especially if swelling is involved. One method I remember they call "R. I. C. E" (rest, ice, compression and elevation).
Please watch the video. It talks about RICE being incorrect hence the reason for this post
In the very least people should start voodoo flossing, I bought some and they are fantastic for the ankles and any leg related area.
Kelly Starret is the man though!
What is voodoo flossing.
Basically you get a band or some people use a bikes inner tyre tube and you wrap an area pretty tight and take it through ranges of motion to break up any scar tissue that's present.
Feels so good on my Shitty elbows.

Oh that. I used a bike inner tube. Tried it on my ankles, knees and elbows at various times. Gives you some nice bruises but can't say it ever did anything more than that.
