Strength for Surfing

Oznut

Super Trooper
Well, I went for a surf this morning before work and while paddling for a wave, I got thinking. Are there any weight training exercises out there replicate the paddling motion? I know deep push-ups can help with strength I that area but is there anything else?

Surfing is good for reflecting on things like that :)

Theres a newsletter from Markos at PTC that is very relevant here. Ill find it later when im not driving.

drop you in a swimming pool on a board with a shark dropped in 10 seconds later... every session reduce your head start by one second... now thats progressive training!

Isnt swimming just a one armed pullover?

Yes and no. Also, the movent is slighty different when on a board as to swimming free style. Traps, lats, triceps, the list goes on. But is there one exercise that simulates the arm over arm?
