when i used to go to the gym , i would meet up with a work friend , took a bit of a adjustment of the schedule to work in between other commitments , but it worked out
but i got sick of going to the gym ,found myself too distracted and the workouts took too long
now by myself i find that I'm done much faster and they're much more intense workouts
I do think that having a training partner is definitely good for motivation if you're just not feeling into it some days
I think alot would have to do with your own personality too.
I don't like to wait around for anybody and don't like to muck around.
I know what I need to do in the gym and I do it.
Never a need for a spotter as all power racks and benches have safety bars/stands so safety is never an issue. You can also use dumbbells to if safety is a problem.
