What the general opinion of having this for breakfast?

Was so tempted to quote hulks post for the win but the forum may have self destructed!!

I buy rolled oats and soak em in milk over night, than I add 2 scoops of protein powder in the morn and wizz it up in the blender. Its yum.

lol, Does everyone just have them with milk, or someone done something interesting with them (did i see someone made pancakes with them?)?

There has been a few recipes of protein powder and oat pancakes. Personally I've never tried that, just used the good old shake and make pancake mix (gluten free for me of course) and added some protein powder to it. Chocolate protein pancakes = profit!

in reply to rolled oats in blender, mine didn't blend well at all and were stuck at bottom of shaker

Tried doing the woolies cheap oats and grinding them up, can't get the consistency so you got to have a real good blender.

BN Oats work out to $5.50 a KG if you buy 20KG, been using them and its good quality. Add 2 scoops to my shakes with WPC, perfect mass gainer shake.

I have a $19.95 blender from Big W blends them up in seconds to a fine powder, but $5.50 is not too bad if you buy in bulk.

You need to shake the blender, if you just let it sit there, it will just blend the bit around the blades, mine blends best when held at a 45 degree angle, as it creates a whirl wind of oat powder:)

Might give this a shot :)

I make my own powdered oats using a food processor. ( larger blade and bowl )
Put half a kilo in there n blend it all up, then the other half.
The possibilities are then endless when it comes to shakes.
Today I had a scoop of oats + a scoop of protein + 200g yoghurt and heaps of raspberries.
It turned out like a thick raspberry smoothie, awesome flavour and texture.
I add some water to the shakes or else it just won't mix.
