Was your wife into lifting when you met her or did she get into it through you?

    Pimp my Pizza (anabolic pizza)

Will have to find a few of the pizza dough recipes I have floating around that are OK. Made one with SPI once- vomit.

    Butt to floor squats

Well, I'm sure the big arse plays a part, but like Azza says, hammies on calves is considered arse to ground. I figure considering how much I could squat just below parallel I should be doing bigger numbers soon enough. Plan to crack 45-50 on Friday. Reckon could do 3x8 easy at that weight (I...

    Maximising Minimalism

Oh shucks, make me blush. You'd be proud I just did my first bum to ground squat, crap weight though. I have twisted achilles tendons that I have refused to have operated on and after much research have finally found something to get some movement back, something no physio, etc has ever been...

    Quitting Smoking

Not an uncommon story. Mum had given up for two years and my grandfather was dying. Being locked in a house with my grandma and aunt who go through over a pack of Holidays each a day, she figured if she was going to put up with the passive smoking she might as well have the buzz. Took her...

    Maximising Minimalism

With BB it's all about the shape of the muscles, balance, posing, etc. If you aren't as symmetrical as possible, know how to make each muscle pop individually and cycle your diet so that you have almost no body fat for comp, you don't have a hope if you are competing. But when it comes to...

calisthenics strength vs lifting weights strength

Both make you strong, but different. I see guys at the gym who do heaps of callestenic work, and they all have that light, lean muscular build, like martial arts guys. Those who do weights tend to add more bulk. Just like people who use the Pilates reformers- it is all body weightwork, so...

Mmm, yes, lack of arse smell a distinct advantage.

    Maximising Minimalism

Oh well, he obviously hates my guts. But still think he is a guy with a lot of experience and plenty to offer, but just needs to get over himself. Saying that, probably part of why he is so successful. Completely believes in his own methods, outside all others. But results are swayed when you...

    Butt to floor squats

Did my first ever successful butt to floor squat yesterday! All the painful stretching and annoying isolation rehab stuff has worked! And sooooo worth it. All the partial squats that I have been doing at much heavier weights had none of the kick of these babies. Crap weight (3 sets/12 at...

    Maximising Minimalism

I have alway done close grip chins. Started a program today with wide grip. Heaps harder. Sadly will have to do lat pulldowns when doing the program without my PT. Can't reach from the little step up to the bars with a wide grip. Oh the humiliation...

Keto bulking to Keto Fat Loss

Only ever heard of keto to lose weight, not build. Looks pretty similar to my keto days, way back when. I found adding psyllium to shakes bulked the shakes up and helped 'movement'. Would like to head back to keto, but causes me issues these days.

    About becoming a personal trainer

Think this pretty much sums up most tertiary courses. I studied law. Think the stats say that five years out, under 5% of graduates will be practising lawyers. That's why stats like me lug around a massive HECS debt.

    Maximising Minimalism

Chins encouraged me to make sure I had a tight diet- once you have to lift your own body weight, the closest you can get to cheating is minimising what you have to lift!

    Quitting Smoking

Never smoked myself, but Mum did. After years of trying gave hypnotherapy a go and it worked. She found pretty quickly that she was able to breathe easier and didn't fatigue as quickly during workout, presumably due to improved circulation. The best part is my mum doesn't smell like a smoker...

    Interesting article...

Markos you are dead right that people make money out of fitness. And a lot of it is bull (aka Cardio Twister- one of the funniest infomercials I have seen). But if you are not open to new ideas and investigating other ways of thinking and training, you are doing yourself a disservice even if it...

Not that I am aware of. They do taste different though!

    Interesting article...

Have to say Kyle, I would take your approach to training over Markos's any day. You listen, answer questions and if you are unsure will seek answer elsewhere. Always open minded to different ideas. Just focussing on how much someone can lift is a very narrow minded approach and doesn't...

    which diet should i follow?

There is a risk that if you are no actually in ketosis that you will gain weight instead, which is why if you are someone who likes certainty, I would recommend the sticks.
