The 22 year old giant Salimi has just smashed the snatch world record in Paris held for the past 8 years by none other than the other Iranian giant, Hossein Rezazadeh. He lifted 214kg on his 3rd and final lift in the snatch to get the job done. He has won the 2010 world juniors and seniors, and I predict (God willing) wonderful results to come for him in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Nice, love to watch history in the making!!!

It just amazes me how fat and unfit these guys look, you can see the fat wobbling all over the place in the slow motion replay, yet how strong they are, he looks like half the overweight unfit people drinking down the local pub, yet he holds a world record:eek::rolleyes:

Guys at the pub are not normally that muscular though nor are most 170kg.
 
Yeah the guys at the pub have all the weight in there beer gut. This bloke doesn't look that fat for 170kg. Look at the size of his legs.
 
Pretty crazy to think that I can only just deadlift that weight (ie coming off the floor slowly) and he just picks it up and throws it over his head.

The power you must have to generate that kind of speed with that kind of weight is just incredible.

Unreal.
