Surely they should be playing extra time?

major shit is going to hit the fan over the rule , make more sense to add an extra quarter

shit the saints came up ,

the players are going to be knackered , it'll take them a week to recover
 
Don'y even have to play a quarter. 5 mins each way or like the Rugby League Golden Point i.e first scorer wins.

I agree, absolute joke. I expect this kind of stupidity from NRL officials. I thought the AFL was supposed to be better organised than that.
 
One of the Magpie players said it has now ruined his holiday plans.

I stand corrected. the point is that it is a ridiculous rule and should be changed immediately to avoid this disaster again.
