Do dumbbell handles have a weight limit?

It's referring to the length of the dumbell as to how many plates it can physically fit, not the weight capacity.

I see some 48cm handles listed as a maximum of 50kg per dumbbell & others are 57.5Kg

e.g:

Is there a point where they will break?

^^^^ this, the limit is the amount of plates you can fit on the bar, not when it will break, it will never break with what a person can lift:)
