Height for chinups

wilkest

New member
Hi,

I didn't want to make another power rack thread but couldn't find any existing ones that answered my question.

I think the tallest power rack that will fit in my garage is 218 cm. Do you think that height is sufficient for pullups for someone who is 5'10"? (178 cm)? For that matter has anyone of a similar height had issues with doing pullups on a 210 cm rack (seems to be the standard size).

Thanks.

That sounds easily high enough. I'm 6'4 and do chins off a doorway I can touch with my head if I stand up perfectly straight. Just bend your knees a little.

You can have issues hanging weights off yourself if the bar is really low and you don't tie them up tightly but that sounds like you have enough room.

yep lots of room. Its only your head going above the bar and if youre taller when initially grabbing the bar, just tuck your legs up.

Just remember to leave room for your head. No point having the bar go all the way to the ceiling.
