Rusting and Weight Set

I stupidly purchased a powerrack when I live in a studio. However I have an outside covered decked area which the back and side are covered. However when it is windy and torrential downpour the area will get wet.

My concern is that it may rust and I want to reduce the possibility of this occurring.

I have purchased some rubber matting to keep the powerrack off the wooden slate floor. I have a car cover to use to cover it from torrential rain when I am available. I think covering it 24/7 when not in use will hold condensation???

The majority of the rack is steel with a chrome part.

Is there anything I can apply to prevent rust or any suggestions at all?

Joining a gym is not an option, they rarely have commercial powerracks, gym poseurs are annoying, not allowed powder, not allowd to go shoeless, not allowed to pump your own music, not allowed to do weights in your daks. ^^
