What have I done to my shoulder?

Was doing some arnie presses on Friday night, next day was fine then woke up on sunday with pain between the front and side delt. The delayed reaction is strange to me.

It hurts:

-A LOT when I drop my arm down after lifting it straight in front of me. Only when lowering not when lifting (weird huh?)
-A little bit when I lift my arm up to the side (lateral raise)

The pain I get is very sharp and sudden.

It doesn't hurt when:

- I do wide grip push ups. Havent tried wide grip bench yet but assume it should be OK.
- I do rear delt raises.

I have heard arnie presses can be dangerous. Now I know first hand.

Any ideas what it could be? Should I go and see the doc or wait it out a few days to see If it improves? Can I still bench if I don't get much pain?

Thanks

Fair enough.

If anyone knows a good physio in Sydney CBD or south west sydney please let me know. Cheers

Don't know Sydney but google a few clinics and find one that often deals with major sporting teams.

Physios that deal with sports people are much better. The others just tend to treat you will kid gloves and tell you to never exercise ever again incase you may hurt yourself one day.

This is sound advice.

Is that a general response to shoulder issues or are my symptoms ringing alarm bells?

I am not a medical professional, however I regret not seeking early attention for what seemed like minor injuries that did not clear up after 48 hours.
