[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

Squats.
Bench.
Squats.
Some accessories maybe.

Ive done 5 hour double sessions. Even hit pbs late in those sessions. More or less dead the next day hahaha. Back to it the day after though. :p

Tim.

If thats it must involve a lot of standing around.

I'm all for not turning weights into cardio but even I'm surprised people can turn that into 3 and 4 hours sessions.

So what does a 4 hour weights session involve.

For me the first 20 minutes is getting loose and mobile
Then I ramped up to 160kg beltless
Then 2 sets with wraps up to 180kg for a triple and that took another 40 minutes bringing it to an hour
Then I did somewhere between 10-15 sets of 5 high bar with various fluctuating weights. I spend this time bullshitting in between sets but try to keep it fairly fast paced, the main workout is done
Then I did around 5 or 6 heavy triples on overhead press then finished with some arms

3 hours total

So what does a 4 hour weights session involve.

20-30mins warm-up and mobility
Bench (60-90mins)
Squats (90-120mins - and I never do double sessions of any lift, I just combine the volume into one big session)
Lots of accessory work (30-60mins - 3-4 lifts)

The heavier the sets, the longer the break between them. On super heavy days I can take 5-10mins between sets as I tend to need to do a lot of rolling and mobility work between sets and if its squats I usually need 2-3mins just for gasping for breath on the floor. And of course I need extra mins for facebook and eating lollies.

If I don't take long breaks then I break. Simple as that. My custom programs can have me doing anything between 4 and 24 working sets each lift and at least 4-5 warm-up sets. Strong takes time.

Yep. Been doing it.

Which one? #29? #37? They're a walk in the park these days.

Try comparing the volume in these to a CMS or MSIC programs, or better yet, one of the retard bench cycles I run. They take fucking time and the volume increases considerable the more advanced you get.

37. They are a walk in the park. Apart from the first couple weeks getting used to it I can now get through it pretty quick.

I could get through #37 in 2hrs easily these days. The intensities are very low and the volume is tiny compared to what I do now. I also run my own cycles with jacked maxes so I tend to actually use somewhere closer to 90-95% rather than the 80-85% I'm meant to be using. This is why I need longer rest breaks and a lot of mobility work. Hence 3-5hr sessions...
