Bench press 1RM, your opinion.

Nick

New member
Hey guys, its been 3 months since i've started lifting, i was just after some opinions on my bench press. 3 months ago i could only 1RM 52kg, this morning i performed a 80kg 1RM which is a 28kg gain.

I was just wondering what do you guys rekon? is this good, decent, or slow gain? Thanks.

Regards,
Nick

i think its good. well done.

just don't expect the next 30kg to come as quickly.

Good work on the 1RM, a 28kg gain is good for 3 months work! What do you do sets on though?

PS - in future, threads on this topic belong n the strength forum.

Welcme to the forums.

Whats you age, weight, height.

How long have you been training for?

How long had you been training when you did 52kg

im 17, height: 172cm and my weight is 78kg.
been training for 3 months, no training before 52kg.

That's good work but what would really be good is to know what your squat improved by.

I hav'nt been squating coz i got osteochondroma which is bone and cartilage growth, its on the inside of my left knee and the tendons from my groin to my calf i think, they slide over it when i bend my knee 90 degree's and the specialist didnt recommend i squat till i get it cut off because it could cause damage.

I've yet to hear of anyone who cant bench for any particular reason, but mention squat and ...............................................................................................................................................

Markos I can't bench because it screws with my shoulder, but I can and do squat.

Make you feel better?

When are you getting the surgery mate?
