Is that what we want though? A specialist spinner that aims just hold up an end even on a genuine day 5 pitch with good wear when 8 wickets are needed for the win? I rate Lyon and he does a great job of this when the pitch is more favourable to the quicks, but I reckon he's capable of more.
Perhaps it is what Clarkey and company want. It's certainly not what I'd want!

yeah, he keeps bowling around the wicket to right handers, not sure why. He can certainly bowl some unplayable nuts though. I'm glad he played and not Mitch.
But Jesus Christ, another bowler down. Lucky they had Watson. Just goes to show how bad the non selection of an allrounder was in Adelaide.

Yeah wade having a bowl was pretty funny, but at least Clarke was trying a few things different, don't think Pointing when he was captain would ever try something so radical, and it was not like runs were an issue so if he went for 24 off the over big deal, but there was every chance he could get a wicket.
