"Natural" supplements... anyone used them before? Made the swap from whey to plant?

I've been using whey supplements for a few years now and recently have found a great deal of information that indicates these are extremely bad for your overall health. I'm not posting here to try and turn everyone away from their beloved Whey but just want to see if anyone else has had experience with this kind of thing? Or mainly, if anyone else has made the decision to can the whey and make the move to more natural protein supplements that are not (or are less) detrimental to your health?

When I say "detrimental to your health" I'm referring to the things outlined in this article I was shown:
Are protein powders really that bad? - The Wellness Warrior

Also, I'm not totally convinced whey supps are bad for you... this is just out of my own curiosity. After all, we're all pretty worried from time to time about our health.

I alternate between wpi and rice protein to give myself a break from dairy.

I'm lactose intolerant but not usually affected by wpi.

Buy the plain protein powders that don't contain artificial sweeteners etc
Educate yourself on the ingredients and buy the ones with the least additives/no added crap.

Why would you believe some random blog that doesn't give you any references to support their beliefs ?
(linking to their own articles isn't a reference)

Protein powders are only a supplement and you still need to eat properly .

Care to list any of the information that supposedly shows they are bad for your health ?

What's unnatural about whey?
