Over under grip?

Ahh. I thought you were gonna tear me up, lol.

I've always had grip strength issues, though... I've broken fingers/hands on multiple occasions, and my job is to type/write for 10 hours a day. I used to pull everything with a mixed grip specifically because my grip strength sucked the big one... but one of the guys I used to train with got me to stop for whatever reason (so long ago now, I don't remember why... probably telling me I'd injure my back or some other silly shit) and exclusively use an overhand grip for anything other than my heaviest sets.

It didn't magically get better, but it did over a pretty quick space of time.

Obviously at very heavy weights an over/under is inevitable. I wouldn't say you can ever get away with not using it completely.

Good thread to ask this question:

When I supinate my non-dominant hand (lefty here) I can't grip properly if I place the bar at the base of my fingers. It also gives me elbow pain for days after. However if I take the 'wrong' grip at the base of my thumb it's fine (no pain and stronger grip).
