At PTC, if you train for powerlifting and want to move off novice status, there are certain numbers you must hit.

160 squat, 120 bench, 200 deadlift.

We currently have 18 lifters that squat over 160kg. Top squat is 318kg, average squat 235kg.

We currently have 13 lifters that bench over 120kg. Top bench is 200kg, average bench 153kg.

We currently have 18 lifters that can deadlift over 200kg. Top deadlift 320kg, average deadlift 249kg.

I'm pretty sure the averages will head north after nationals too!

Sticky, I'm curious why your "novice threshold" is higher than Markos'. Is it because queenslanders are better than victorians?

Those numbers aren't markos'. A few weaker guys on this forum whinge about Markos' numbers, but reality 2/3/4 plates have been used for decades by strength trainees/trainers around the world.

PTC Brisbane is a strength and conditioning gym. People who train at my gym are surrounded by high level athletes.

This is not Fitness First.

I expect more from my lifters.

Sorry, I wasn't implying that they were Markos' numbers. I meant just the ones that he quoted on this forum. I'm aware they've been around a while. It's good that you hold your clients in higher regard.

Always impressive numbers by all your lifters up there. Do you still mainly use the basics of your program and 5 x 5 with 3 x 3 or do you have your lifters do other well known programs?

What time frame would suggest is needed to achieve those numbers?

Depends on how committed the lifter is to strength training. Most people that train at Ptc, I would expect to get it in under 12 months, 18 at the absolute most.

The majority of my lifters run programs I write. Very few run specialization programs, to which I still have input of.

Sticky, do you thInk you have a general lack of respect for the majority of members on ausbb?

Not at all. I have a lack of respect for knobs and douche bags.
These people exist everywhere.

I dont pretend otherwise.

Is this the "Ask Sticky anything" Thread lol!

Saw the new gym pics, gym looks awesome, well equipped

Scott, what are the Saturday night lotto numbers? Please PM only, dont want to share the winning. hehe. Maybe only with Karen.
