Interested in those who drink and dont and their thoughts?

Personally i go through phases or fairly moderate drinking, to minimal, to nothing (not always that order). It is a good release but im finding i really enjoy my time better when not drinking (as time is the most valuable thing!) and can do so much more.
Without drinking i am sharper and my gym sessions are much improved.

I think many people have dependency on alcohol and not aware. Same as coffee and again i go on moderate coffee intake to nothing.

Interested in peoples thoughts thank you

If you can give up great..A drink or 2 here and there won't hurt.

I just think it taste like piss esp beer.. Yuk.

I am pretty sure I'm an alcoholic... of sorts.

Apparently you don't have to drink everyday to be an alcy... You don't even have to think about it all the time, but when you do drink, it's typically bingeing.

This sums me up to a tee.

Can go a week... or two without a drink, but next time I have one, the best part of a bottle of Jim Beam and a good amount of beers are gone.

Wake up crook. Training suffers of course. And it doesn't help the bf %age.

Nothing more refreshing in summer than an ice cold beer though

I guess the same could be said of recreational substances too, such as everyone's favourite nose candy. If you can handle it as an indulgence.. a cheat meal for the nose if you will, then fine but if instead it controls you and you're always thinking about when is the next time to 'cheat', then watch out! Never allow anything to take away dat dem gains.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would want to give up drinking.
I don't see the point of getting in good shape and do nothing with it but sit at home or even worse, go for walks.
Reason why I chased the Coorporate ladder and played the property game is so I can comfortably afford a heavy drinking lifestyle without impacting my family.
Reason I train hard all week, is so I look good when I'm out drinking, and not like a full on alco, could not give a rats arse about being fit, only care about looking it.
To me training and not drinking is sort of like owning a Lamborghini Avantador and never taking it out of the garage, think it's useless, but then again, I'm a pretty fucked up unit.

And El Testicle ; it's only a problem if you don't enjoy it, you're sweet, I wouldn't worry.

I drink often, but don't go big lol
Nah, pretty much every second week. Don't drink at work and when i'm home it's usually only 2 or 3 but most nights.

from 18 to mid 30's would not touch a drop unless I was going out to a party or some sort of function. Even if there was nothing on for 2 or 3 months it would not interest me, but when I did head out I would have enough to feel it for a couple of days. Now I might have 3 or 4 drinks on say a wed night and maybe a couple on a sat night. But then I might not have a drink for a few weeks. Just in moderation these days for me.

^^^ I enjoying going out and feeling good about myself. But what you said reminds me of someone I know. Had a db9, hardly ever drove it. Think he done like 5000km over 3 years.

Alcomohol is the worst kind of drug man, so these days I only drink a glass of fine red wine every wednesday when I go out for dinner. And it gets my face pretty red, so I bet it's stripping muscle fibres off my back by the minute.

Normally if I go out clubbing I just drink aloe vera juice. I learnt my lesson the hard way last month when I let some dumb chick pour her drink in my face, next thing I know I am without one shoe and lost my balance big time. Frigging alcomohol, should've learnt not to drink that poison since the toga party days at uni!

I used to binge daily weekly .. god you name it but as i grew up i had less of it for the life of me i still have friends who drink morning til night because thats all they know but its up to you, few occasional drinks are fine or celebration just enjoy yourself but if you get to the point its becoming a need then maybe rethink it if not there always aod services out there if your drinking gets out of hand. But its true.. its days whole day or even more days to recover..

Good for you, reflecting and weighing up the benefits. In Australia sometimes your friends try to push you down a path you shouldn't go down. The reaction and ability to cope depends on the individual.

I just know I can't handle it. I have a few in my family who have realised the same thing. For us a 6 pack is just a tease. Everything that happens afterwards is usually regrettable.

I drink occasionally at social gatherings now, but just to loosen up a bit, and I keep the amount down to stop old Mr Hyde coming out ........

I hardly drink while away at work. On my week off at home I have 2-3 drinks a night. Can't remember the last time I was drunk, probably my 30th over a year ago...
That said, I love my drink and therefore would never give up.

I smash piss like a native Australian.

Gotta live by a few hard and fast rules-

If you can drink it, fuck it, smoke it or snort it eventually it will cause you problems. However in the short term buckle in and Enjoy the ride cause it never gets better then the last time.
