they said this a few years ago , the media jumped on the band wagon when they saw the speeds that some of the sprinters were getting upto , thinking that no human could get to that speed , most likely the media that reported it on it had enough trouble walking from the front door of their house to their car
 
I would think definitely plausible considering some of the technology around, and like AAS if their is a demand someone will develop it...

Surely you would notice the weight of the thing in there compared to your identical bike that doesn't have it?
 
would have thought so, even using light weight materials, brushless motors rely on magnets which are heave and batteries are light either lipo batteries, but i am pretty sure the high end bike like that do have to have a min weight, even though the manufacturers can make em lighter, so maybe they just make the bikes as light as possible and instead or putting in ballast weighs around the bike the have the motor????

Yeah just looked it up and a Tour de France bike has a min weight of 6.8kg and many added weight to make min weight.
