Just saw the whole fight on FB. Rousey never struck a blow. Washed up. Retirement should be highly considered.

Judo has always been an inferior Martial Art unless you're wearing a Gi. Watching the Rousey/Holm fight, Rousey tried to throw Holm using Kubi-nagae, the first Throw I learnt as a White Belt as a Kid. Holm countered the Throw by stepping around Rousey's Feet. Even I know how to do that.

Rousey wasn't a great Fighter. Her opponents were just Part-timers. They no longer are.

Then she's finished. Take the 3 mil and find a good financial adviser. No MMA skills, no acting skills no tits. Dang.

I'd imagine she's got enough tucked away from 6 years in the UFC plus the few movies already but she'd have enough of a name to carry on with something else now

Nope. At the time she fought the best that was put in front of her. The best have overtaken her now. The poor coaching haven't helped.

Everyone's run finishes at some point. She will go down as one of the greats in women's fighting.

She needed to listen to her mum and get rid of her coach. He ruined Travis brown as well.

She was earning millions while her opponents were being paid just a few thousand dollars. Her opponents were part-timers having to work normal jobs while Rousey trained full time.

It was all UFC hype to make her image so huge to attract the big Female market, and it worked - you included. The UFC knows how to increase their viewer Market.

Barry, you never should have put that Ronda Rousey poster on your Bedroom wall but now you should certainly take it down, and resign your position of President of the Ronda Rousey fan boy club. It makes you look gullible.

I dunno why she chose to stand there like that with minimal guard up when they all knew her opponent was a puncher. Too much arse kissing in the home gym? Dunno. She should have stood back and kicked. Or took her to the ground.

I was at the fight clapping when holly beat her won. I didn't care if she won or lost yesterday. I find the haters funny. It makes them feel better about never achieving anything themselves.

At the time she beat the best there was to fight. You can't do anymore than beat who they put in font of you. Misha and Cat were not part timers. McMann was an Olympic wrestler.

She beat who was put in front of her until holly came along. MMA is a new, fast evolving sport. Women's MMA more so. The game changes quickly. It now looks to have past Ronda buy. She was great, not anymore.

Do we say Royce Gracie was no good because even in his prime he wouldn't beat any of today's top fighters.

She was NOT a great fighter. She was great for promoting the Sport to the Female market coz she was the first big name Female.

Royce Gracie was also fighting a lot of Part-timers until he met Ken Shamrock and a few others.

But his opponents weren't versed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well. I remember when he first came on the scene, everyone started wanting to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, until they realised it was an inferior Martial Art for the Street - me included.

For you young whipper snappers who don't realise how the UFC operates:

It occurred to me last night "why did the UFC bring Rousey back?". I wondered if they wanted a new glamour Bish to keep the huge Female market that they created by Promoting the fuck outta that Rousey. Did they bring Rousey back so Nunes could be "legitimized" and appear to be the new Superstar for all the uneducated fans (like Barry )

Just saw this by Dana White"

“Everyone was chirping about the promotion for this fight, it was all Ronda based,” White said. “I could have spent $100 million on advertising and nobody would still have known who Amanda was. After tonight, everyone knows who Amanda Nunes is now, OK? Tomorrow morning, ask somebody who Amanda Nunes is, now they know. That’s why I’m the promoter and everyone else isn’t.”

Boxing was more legitimate. The UFC sits somewhere inbetween Boxing and WWE (Wrestling) when it comes to legitimacy.
