Yes you are correct. It's 90% of my 1RM attempts. Going for 3 reps, the first one made me dizzy. The only way around this was not to take that 'triple sip of breath' to push my diaphragm down at max pressure but just brace as I normally do.I would think if hes feeling dizzy after the first rep he must be using near maximal between 1-3 rep max? otherwise hes got something entirely different going on. maybe you should elaborate Jiggers..
If I am doing a 8-10 rep set I don't take a breath every rep, I can valsalva the shit out of the first 2-3 reps with one big breath lol
