So i trained heavy deadlifts yesterday doing 190kg 3x3s. the first two sets felt so good. felt like i could maybe rep out 1-2 more reps but didnt push it. I rested 6 minutes between sets and then on the third set the first rep felt good, second felt super heavy and the third i could only get the bar to below my knees before i dropped the weight. Can anyone explain why the lift all of sudden became so much harder even though im having a substantial rest period.
the last session was similar actually. first 2 sets felt light. felt like i could easily get another rep. but then third set on the third rep couldnt lock out.
yeh that sounds reasonable. ive deadlifted alot in my training but until starting this program im doing now i hadnt deadlifted in almost 6 months. so maybe that massive downtime with no deadlifting has fried my stamina

so why are you doing Deadlifts? for overall power?, thick traps?, Back? I think rack pulls are OK but i rather do direct work for my lower back,traps..etc. Stiff legged/Romanian Deads are useful but to me Romanian Deads are basically rack pulls.
save your lower back do 45% Hypers, do shrugs for traps, lats are better trained with cables at various angles/Barbell,Hammer rows. I see twinks in the Gym pulling a decent weight with no back development.
I agree the deadlift is a very technical exercise. But performed correctly is also a very effective mass builder...But most gym junkies are useless at utilising any of the big 4 compound movements, or thier variations, with proper technique to be honest. Despite how good they think they are at them.

Also, what makes you think you get nothing out of deadlifts?
My whole back was built on almost exclusively deadlifting. Sure I've used rows and chins etc in different training blocks here and there, but that main cause of my back growth was deadlifts.
I know. You don't need them. But they sure as shit are more fun than not doing them.
I understand both sides but I personally don't like using people like Vince Gironda and Frank Zane as examples. Vince Gironda also said don't Squat. Frank Zane set BB back years with his effeminate physique - you wouldn't see him hitting the ball up one off the Ruck.

i train back on a different day to deadlifts. i do all my lat work the day before i train deads. my back is currently best part of my physique good amount of mass and good separation. i just like being strong
