Guess I'd better do this too.

Male, 35, ~185cm, ~95kg, untrained, unfit... but keen! :)

Planning to get strong and fit and healthy. There's some affordable options at the local community gym, so money and travel shouldn't be issues.

Now I just have to pick ONE plan, from all these beginner's plans... :p

Oh, and hope all you guys had a great Christmas, and have a kick ass New Year.

I would like to welcome you to the Ausbb- Australian BodyBuilding Forums, Good to have you all on board. Don't forget to start your own Training Diary. Your Training Diary will help you stay motivated and keep track of your progress. When you train alone sometimes it is hard to get help, guidance, inspirtation and motivation which is where the Ausbb forums and the Ausbb Training Diaries will help you with finding others with similar stats and allow you to interact with each other.

* Click here to start your own training log (don't forget to put a link in your signature to your training diary).
* Once you have started your Training diary click here to add it to the lists (order by weight and order by age) this helps other guys find your log.

Hi all. I've been lurking here for months after one of your mods suggested I have a look in. Might as well give you my cv now that I've signed up

I'm about 39.9 years of age, been training for 20 years and would describe myself as a gymrat if I had to pick a classification. I have competed several times in bodybuilding comps but all my results have come at a regional level. Every time I have tried higher levels, they send me home with a 'thanks for coming' trophy rather than a real one.

I've never been very strong, all my best lifts are from 2006/7. Squat 190kg x 2 Dead 3 x 200 x 5 Bench 125 x 6 at a bodyweight of 100 to 105. I started at 19 at a bodyweight under 70kgs.

I started training in town but now I live in the bush and train at home obviously.

Oni's training thread is what got me to sign up so I'm off to have my 2c thrown in there.

Hello everyone

Name: Dan
Age: 35
Location: Perth

About a year ago I set a goal to lose some fat using a combination of diet, weight training and a lot of cardio. I was able to ahieve this six months later when I dropped 12 kg to 72 kg (I am 6ft). Since then I have continued to train about 5 days a week on weights with some jogging and cardio in between as I like to feel fit and healthy. Lately I have been learning more about nutrition, exercise and fine tuning my routines as a result of visiting sites and forums like this one. :)

Other interests: squash, dance music (progressive trance and house), cooking, and did I mention jogging? (I would love to do more if only my ITB doesn't flare up as often as it does.)

Hi Everyone,

- Name: Josh
- Age: 28
- Sunshine Coast qld

I started going to the gym nearly two years ago, but i would say i have wasted about 16 months of that time by not fully comitting to gaining serious muscle, i work away at a mine site in central QLD so i am away from home half the year so i found it difficult to get into a routine as well as the camp gym at work was lacking in free weights and had a lot of machines this combined with me sticking to a 3 day bodypart split for a long time has i feel slowed my process. I have definately changed my physique, went from 65kg to 75kg and got some good strength gains-

Dumbell bench press- 15kg 8 reps to Barbell bench press- 85kg 6 reps
Dumbell shoulder press-10kg 10 reps to 30kg for 6 reps
Dumbell rom D/L- 15kg for 10 reps to Deadlift 120kg for 6 reps
Only starting Squating last 4 months went from 60kg (bad form) to 80kg reps of 6 (better form)
But this year is time to get serious! i have read alot of information (mainly on AUSBB)
and after being constantly being overwhelmed by all the different opinions and views on what works and doesent i have decided to keep it very simple-

Workout A- back sqaut 3x6-8
-bench press 3x6-8
-deadlift 3x6-8
-dips 3 sets to fail

Workout B-back squat 3x6-8
- military press 3x6-8
- bent over rows 3x6-8
-chin up 3 sets to failure
I am supplementing this with the following pre/ post workout mixture i found seems to work for me, creatine, dextrose, whey protein, glutamine, BCCA's, and L-arginine. all very cheap so why not it seems to give me a bit more in the gym, help with recovery and gives me good pump haha. And of course going to be eating like a horse as i have a lighting fast metabolism.

Well thats about it, my goal is to get to 85kg by the end of next year as well as have a really strong body as my job as a diesel fitter requires a lot of heavy mainly akward lifting and i see a lot of people with crook backs, not for me.
