Hi everyone and thanks admin for the warm welcome :)

- Age: 34
- Gender: Female
- Location: Qld
- Training experience: Weights, cardio etc a few times on and off over the years
- Any Interests: Being a mum, used to love the gym, swimming, going out for dinner and socialising. Now I don't have too much time.

I joined this forum as I think I'm going to need lots of help with my goal next year and want to start researching the best way to go about reaching it. I am having a knee operation this week and it will take about a month and a half to heal then I have physio etc. With that limitation for years I had enjoyed the gym as it was physical activity that I could do without too much risk of injury providing I didn't get carried away with things. I experienced great results too and felt fantastic. At one stage I was doing mainly weights and heavy weight with only a short cardio warm up. I started to see some form in my muscles and slimmed down. Then I started partying etc (as you do in your early 20's) and got off track. I found my way back to the gym and focused more on cardio and light weights. The buz from the cardio was also fantastic and I felt really strong as opposed to sore all the time like I did when heavily weight training. So now I'm wondering what the best way to go really is? Also diet  what really is the best diet?? Ahhhh there's so many different opinions! Hopefully this forum can help me with that too :D I have not been a member of a gym for about 5 years now, I have a 14 month old baby and a resent injury and after my operation I want to get back into it. I had purchased a home gym when I quit the gym 5 years ago due to 'politics' it has an adjustable weight bench, lat pull down etc , free weights and I have a treadmill. I've used it but not as much as I thought I would. I miss the gym and the social aspect of it too so come next year I plan to join a gym and get back into it. I am currently 72kg's and would really love to get below 60kg's and be seeing some nice muscles under my skin. Thanks again for the welcome :)

Well I have been reading this forum long enough..Time to introduce myself.

- Name Kev
- Age 36
- Gender Male
- Location Central Coast, NSW
- Training experience (if you have any that is) None. Except football training when I was younger
- Any Interests Currently really into MTB riding.

Ok. Now I am 36 and 187cm. On the 16th April I weighed in at 144.6kg.
I thought to myself that this is it. Time for a massive change in lifestyle.
I am on a low GI diet and limit myself to between 1800 and 2200 calories per day.
This is made up of:
less than 60 grams fat.
Less than 30 grams Saturated fat
150 grams protein
150 grams carbs
less than 50 grams sugars (this one is the hardest)
I have also been walking between 6km and 12km @ 5 days per week. With weight training 3 days per week. (Which I have been doing without proper knowledge)
As of today I have lost 26 kgs in 7 months and am pretty pleased with my efforts. I even had 8 weeks off because of overseas travel in July and didn't put on 1kg.
Have taken 17 cm off my chest and 27cm from my stomach and just reached a huge milestone.(under 120kg) Woohoo.

Definitely hasn't been a hard haul.
I would like to start getting serious with the weights now though and am keen to start the beginners SS routine.
Do you think this would be alright as I am currently doing heaps of cardio and am in a calorie deficit diet?
I am aiming for 110 to 115 kg by xmas.

Anyway this is me and I am pleased to be part of this great forum.

Name: Viviane

Age: now that's not polite :)

Gender: Female

Current Weight: 45kg

Height: 158cms

Location: Melbourne

Training experience
(if you have any that is): Been training for 7 years but have made some radical changes to my weight training over recent months in 2011. More heavy lifting, more challenging programs plus I've also started kettlebell training and bootcamp.

Any Interests: Formula 1, science geek, running, worship of all things chocolate, pastry/baking both wicked and developing recipes using protein powders.

I joined ausbb because it's a great source of info and experience sharing on training, form, nutrition, etc - a great range of forums and people to learn from. My goals are body recomposition and just improving on my training every week. I don't have much to contribute here except hopefully some protein recipes that some of you might also like.

Cheers
Viviane

Mr. Wabbit

Sup Ladies and Gentlemen,

Age : 23

Location: Sydney

Gender: Male

Experience: Cardio work outs only, weightlifting experience is barely a year hence why I'm here to learn from experienced individuals =)

Occupation: Westpac, will be happy to refer if required LOL ;)
Interest: Comedy, music, basketball, CHICKS and all that weird crap like body language, definitions of dreams, analysing voice and speech tone, etc etc (I'm not weird just special LOL)

Currently on a journey of weightloss-

Weight: 108kgs
Height: 5'7

Reason:

Used to be 80kg's when I was 16 and loving the fit life. Let myself go for a few months which turned to years and now realising I'm not getting any younger. As the years added on I've realised I'm more closed off, less energetic and less myself. Last year was my peak, I weighed in at 123kgs- I didn't dare weigh myself in again cause I was scared LOL, so was that really my peak? I don't wanna know, all I know is- I'm not happy with myself. Fat is like a barrier which blocks the world from seeing who you truly are and so I'm tackling the problem head on. My current weight loss till date (26/11) is 15kgs. I'm able to move quicker, smile longer and even wake up on time, well almost on time but I'm getting there. Will be continuing this journey and hoping this forum will support me along the way.

Goal:
To reach between 80-85kgs with approx. 10% bodyfat (if I hit 15% I'd be very happy). Then paint the streets red, lock your daughters at home Craig's coming to town.:eek:

Looking forward to sharing and learning on this forum!

-Wabbit

Hi everyone

My first post, and some information about me:

Age: 29

Gender: Female

Current Weight: 75kg :(

Height: 5’7”

Location: Adelaide

Training experience: I started training in early 2008, lost 12kgs (got down to 70kg with weights & HIIT) by end of 2009 and pretty much maintained that weight through all of 2010.

Back & wrist injuries from car accident at the start of 2011 means I haven’t been able to train most of this year, just started back at gym a couple of months ago.

My overall goal is to be strong, lean and healthy, weight down to about 62 – 65kgs.

I am currently following the same training program as my husband, it’s a full power/hypertrophy routine by Layne Norton. I squatted 70kgs this week which is my personal best so far.

Diet: 4 meals per day, 1293 cals, protein/carbs/fat all nicely measured thanks to hubby. Supps are Scivation whey, Xtend, creatine, beta-alinine.

I joined this forum in order to keep myself informed & motivated. I’ve found some of the technique articles (squatting in particular) have been really helpful so far, so thanks!

Cheers, Bee :)

G'Day All

I thought that I would join up here as I have quite a lot of time on my hands.
Though this doesn't allow me to exercise as much as I would like.
I have been an on and off again weight lifter. never have taken it too seriously. And more than likely will continue in this vain.
I have got a home gym but it is a little restrictive though I can get a decent workout with that and free weights.

My aim now is to loss weight and gain muscle, as I have got a bad back and this sometimes stops me in my tracks. Just like now, I am in bed laying down doing this so what ever you do please lift weights that you are capable in lifting. A bad back will drag you in and spit you out, so please look after it.

I will be a senior here as I am no spring chicken. I am at the moment in my 50's, and that with a bad back are a bad combo. Though I keep as active as I can. I have many more years to go so what I can do today will help later.
I think this is enough for now, I hope to get to know you here over time.
