I recently bought a kilo of the new choc-orange flavor and some samples of choc-coconut and choc-cherry. Here are my thoughts.

Price 5/5 - This is a common factor among all. I'm a big fan of the NBS pricing policy of getting bulk prices but with the ability of choosing a variety of flavors.

Mixiablity 3/5 - Another common factor. Giving it 3 cos it did take quite a bit of shaking to dissolve all the powder. But, it's not a huge deal for me.

Smell:
Choc-orange 1/5 - I can't quite describe it but it didn't smell good at all. I couldn't wait to close the bag as the smell was just overpowering. While this is not meant to be a gastronomic experience, inevitably smell does play a part in the end taste. I hoped it would taste better than it smelt.

Choc-coconut 5/5 - Very pleasant smell and a very familiar smell as at the same time. Couldn't quite put my finger on it though.

Choc-cherry 4/5 - Again pleasant smell, not overpowering in any way. Hint of cherry could be picked up.

Taste:
Choc-orange 0/5 - Oh no! This just tasted absolutely horrid. It was neither chocolate nor orange, just a very chemically tasting drink. I'm sorry, but this was the worst tasting protein I've ever tried. But, remember this is just my personal opinion. As I had a kilo of this stuff, I tried it both in milk and water, but it didn't sway my opinion.

Choc-coconut 5/5 - I mixed this in about 125 mls of skim milk and I really did enjoy this flavor. Only on drinking it did I recodnise the smell - the Bounty chocolate bar. It did taste somewhat like Bounty. Wish I had bought one kilo of this flavor! :)

Choc-cherry 3/5 - Again mixed in 125 mls of skim milk. It was a pleasant taste, very faintly like the Cherry Ripe chocolate bar. But, it didn't blow me away like the choc-coconut, and I don't think I'd make this a staple but I might throw it in every so often for variety.

From the three flavors, I do see myself throwing a bag of the choc-coconut into my next order...but I've got to slowly (very slowly) get through my choc-orange first!! :( I've been a fan of the NBS WPI since last year and was quite disappointed with this flavor. Note to self: Try a sample first!!

Thanks for the review. I bought some of the choc-orange in my last order. Was expecting a Jaffa flavour but it has missed the mark. Haven't tried the other 2 flavours but am keen to try the choc-coconut next order.

Good write-up. I also ordered a pack of samples with my last order so I'll be sure to try out the coconut soon... And maybe the choc-orange last lol.

Yep was expecting a bit more from the choc orange

Tried so far
Choc orange
Choc coconut
Mango
Choc honeycomb

Really enjoyed them all, they taste great, no issues with mixing, though the choc orange smells funny.

Choc-coconut/mango is by far may favorite though.

Still got a heap of flavors to try out though.

I have not tried the choc orange so can not comment.

I think you are being harsh on the mixability, I use the NB WPI and it mixes perfectly with no clumps or residue left in the container, so a 3 is very low considering it mixes perfectly every time:confused:

Choc honeycomb is my absolute favourite its an 6/5 for me.

Was not a huge fan of the choc coconut, but thats just me, but I still enjoy it occasionaly, still a good flavour and would be a 4 or 5 /5 if you like choc coconut.

LOOOVE the Mango another 5/5 for me for that.

Plain choc and vanilla and banana and strawberry are all good, nothing special but good none the less.

For a treat I get 6-10 ice cubes, two scoops of NB Choc honeycomb WPI and may be 50ml of soy or almond milk and blend till smooth.....bloody beautiful, better than a gloria jeans choc blend drink and full of protein and no bad stuff...

Cheers Big Mick! We'll put that quick recipe up on our Facebook page later today

Got a sample pack yesterday and tried some of the choc coconut in oats.

Mixed really well and tasted delicious. Very bounty like.

Cant wait to try the rest.

All good mate, Have put that recipe up here before somewhere, it also makes a good desert, and obviously can be done with different WPI flavours for different tastes.

This random post feature is absolute gold....poor Big Mick, 6/5 for NBS....sad the quality didn't live up the reality

nobull ,that's a name i haven't heard from in a while looks like they are still around

Wpuld never donate a cent to them. Once bitten, twice shy.
Luckily I only bought 3kg once.

Nah Brahaha. Other BB forums got wind of it too. Even Whirlpool had a thread going.

Ok, but no one reads that I guess or takes any notice, they never even slowed down and I know plenty of people that been buying from them and still do, even after I tell them, their money so I stopped worrying about it.

Not really my problem any more what people waste their cash on.
