Yeh i saw a douche spit on his hands rub them together then pick up a dumbell in each hand.He did some reps put down the weight had a rest a spat in his hands again rubbed them together and went to do another set.And thats around the time i lost my sh!t.Long story short i dont think he will be doing that again or even coming to the gym again. He will prob need to see some kind of hearing specialist aswell.

trained at new gym tonight, a very very very smoking hot chick (gotta be a milf or close to it) who had abs, a great body, great face, 10/10. Doing seated rows on cable machine directly behind me (1 step back and i would step on her) and looking in the mirror seeing every single guy (10 about) just watching her through corner of their eyes haha. Can't blame them though

A girl who had multiple weighted bb's and db's and was using just the bar for squats in the squat rack, then she would move on to use her other bars taking up room at the squat racks in her little circuit ....when someone asked her if she was done with the squat rack, she said no although clearly using it to hoarde and store her collection of bb's and db's....

I would have moved all her shit out of the way, particular if she was using the only squat rack, or taking up more than one.

A trick I have found that works is instead of asking if they're done, you ask them if you can work in. That way if they say no you have reason to crack the shits at them :p most times they will let you or get up and vacate the area.

Saw a very very tall redheaded bloke, throwing one of those large excercise balls between his hands and feet while doing those crunch v-sit up things. except when he would throw it back to his feet, he often didnt catch it, proceeded to get up and retrieve it from about 10 metres away, and repeated the process. He failed to catch it atleast 7 times.

was almost as good as the guy doing squats while holding 2, 5kg medicine balls, one on each shoulder the other day.

Best thing i have seen in my short time lifting.

HA!!! Accidently booked a couple of nights on the Gold Coast during schoolies, and this place is packed with stoopid kiddies.

Was just in the gym at the hotel having a run, and this mega awesome dude with a fluro pink singlet and hat backwards comes in with his little hottie. Puts about 80KG on the bench press, did I think maybe three and each time SMASHED the weights back down cos he couldn't handle it. Then walked over, gives his little babe a kiss and towels down. Then Picks up some 15KG dumbbells, does 4 arm curls with his right arm, two with his left, then nearly drops it when putting it back. Goes and gives his little babe a kiss. Then gets on the running machine next to me, puts it on 18 Kph, runs for just over a minute flat out, then stops it and gets off. Towels down, gets his little babe and walks out.

Was there for maybe 6 minutes total

Saw a dude deadlifting 60kg with straps.

So I proceeded to lift 160kg without straps at the same time.

Unfortunately I've never seen anyone deadlift over 100 in my gym, however I know some do... just never see it. Actually have seen straps used on 60-80kg 3 times now.

I saw something similar last week...he did 3 x 8 with 80kg strapped.
I asked why, politely of course.
He said he had a weak grip...and said he normally used a belt too, but forgot that day.
He was clearly heavier than me, and was a little annoyed by me using his 80kg for first warm up set. :p

The thing with deadlifting is, you gotta compare apples to apples.

In your case Mideon, I'm lighter than you, but can out bench you and out squat your stated weights. But my deadlift best is at least 40kgs lighter than your's. Why? I'd say our structures are very different - I'm a small boned, tightly muscled and lower fat 74kgs. I still fit my size 30 jeans for chrissakes!! :D My hips and torso are smaller and (probably) less developed and I'd say you would find it far easier to shift any weight at all that involved your midsection pushing or pulling.

That, and I have never had anyone show me how to Deadlift properly.

That's not to say I shouldn't be able to lift your deadlift weight, but right now I can't and don't.

Point is : we all develop lifts at different speeds and I'd say there are a LOT of untrained deadlifters about, like your friend in the gym.

Also don't get caught up with the hype of using straps, especially if your never going to comp it, each to there own. However I use straps for my working sets 150kg 5x5, anything less and its just overhand grip mostly because I hate the alternate and hook grips, so I will never let how much I deadlift interfere with how much I can hold. Good on him for deadlifting, at my gym its one of the least performed closely behind squats, you should see looks of horror when I pull 180kg etc and I'm no big lifter by any means
