Here is our upcoming competition and current lifters particpating

Tenacity - Novice and improvers 3 Lift competition
When – 7th June 2015 (Sunday)

What - This is an raw and open event. Anybody can enter. Wrists wraps/Knee wraps are allowed. You do not need to be part of ANY Fed to compete in this event.

Where - The event will be held at PTC Sydney. Unit 51/2 Railway Parade Lidcombe

Weigh in - 9am-10:30am
Lifting starts at 11am sharp

Cost - $40 (Free for spectators)

Yea pretty good. Had a 2 yr hiatus which didnt do my lifting any favours. Back at PTC again, will be back at peak by mid year.

Ashleigh competed among 4 other girls from the gym at the recent arnold classic invitational invite in melbourne

She managed a

180 Squat
90 bench
180 deadlift
at 81kg bodyweight

This gives here the totala and squat world records.

Good to hear your back into things again. Its a hard balance to find sometime with life and lifting.

Maybe see you at a competition sometime.

Hayrie joined ptc to just get stronger for her proffession. 6 weeks ago she was struggling with a 8kg kettlebell for reps as she had never done any form of bar work before. Mostly running.

It is great to see more females get into restistance/strength training and dispel old myths.

John auon showing us how to get them six packs.

Not all lifters at ptc wish to compete despite being stronger than your average male.

Some are just after general strength and conditioning while obtaining a more athletic physique.

He has lost 15kg over the last 2 months.

Strength is also rising rapidly.

Some strong lifters there man. I'm especially impressed by the girls. They should go for a session at a commercial gym and demorolise all the bros lol

ashleigh was asked to kindly leave the anytime fitness recently because she was intimidating other members. Deadlifting 160kg for reps.

trent, in your 3 lift PTC and GPC comps, is it ok if you just do bench and deadlifts, or do you still have to do a token squat?

Hey spartacus

Rules state u can skip a lift and of course not receive a total. (Bomb).

I dont mind personally mind if a lifter does a token if they are going for records in the other 2.
I think its silly if you are healthy.
But they are still within the rules.

Although at my gpc comps if you bomb I won't allow you to continue especially if there are a lot of lifters.

ok,

I will never do a squat in comp again, can't stand all different rules, equipment with regard to squats in sport, so prefer to just deadlift and bench for the few powerlifting comps I will do in future.

3 weeks out from gpc nationals the team are testing their openers.

First off as a coach i would never ever allow my lifters to pass a lift in training if it was high and then continue onto heavier weights. Just to fuel their ego. YOU WILL be caught out at the comp.

1. Amanda previous best in competition was 180kg at proraw just before her surgery which took her out for months.
Today she managed 180/185/190kg squat.
All things going well next week we will be having her give 200kg a crack.

2. Big Andrew squats 320kg. His previous squat best was 310 at gpc states. Is he going deep enough for a big guy?

3. Owen brown Squats 250kg in sleeves. He is just coming back from a lower back injury due to work. This is his best prep to date.

4. Ofir squats 235kg@82.5kg. This is the first GPC nationals for himself. He should finish up his training cycle on around 240-245.

just found this Trent. Looks like you NSW guys/girls will put up a great showing at nats!

and didn't know that re skipping other lifts. I'm token squat and bench. Have to weigh in on Friday so the token lifts will interrupt my eating LOL.
