Claire Valley was nice.
Victor Harbor was a decent day trip.
I found Renmark / Loxton interesting.

I live in hills , not 5 mins from hanhdorf , great pubs all through the hills
an area of SA not so known would be COONGIE lakes , in the top north east corner , desert area but in the last few years the amount of rain is incredible , fuck me i shit you not there green tree frogs in the SA desert
 
The road out of South Australia joking :P (ex South Aus here) Theres many good camping spots a long the river i liked camping out at Ramco which is near waikerie (sp) also many good fishing spots like the wallaroo jetty/marina or browns beach for beach fishing... West Beach mini golf is a fun course if your into it. Oh and the best pizza place in the world is in South Aus its called lulus pizza on regency rd go there YOU WILL NOT be disapointed
 
Im from sa, a town called murray bridge. It used to be really small but now its pretty good. Love the bunyip machine down by the river!
As a kid the big rocking horse was great. Theres some great hiking and camping to be had in the flinders rangers too

Ah the ol Bunyip, hey remember Puzzle Park, all shut now.
Took my son up to the Big Rocking Horse a while back, its good they have reopened it so you can climb it again, shame the do-gooders had it closed for climbing for years.
 
Puzzle park! oh my gosh, id forgotten!! good memories, they built a dundees wild life park where that was but it had a fire or something last year and shut down. Im glad the rocking horse is open again, Im taking my kids to visit family later this year and wanted to take them
 
Hey give Gawler some credit mate, you do have to go through Gawler to hit the highway that leads out of South Oz :)
