I was tossing up weather to put this in the supplement section or the diet section or the steroids section:confused:

Anyway some may remember I took part in a Test Booster Trial a few years back organised by BN, then I think there was one organised by another member/sponsor (??), can't really remember if it got off the ground, someone might remember.

Anyway what I am asking is if there are any legal test boosters that actually work with measurable results??

What affect does diet and nutrition have??

What affect does training have?? Or more specifically the type of training??

What are the illegal alternatives??

I am not necessarily talking about boosting test to astronomical levels, but just 'normal' levels.

As most are probably aware I am getting close to 50 now and test levels are probably dropping off and have been doing so for some time.

Before someone brings it up, everything still seems to work fine, and I have not had a test done to determine levels for a few years.

Just seeing what peoples thoughts are, and 'older' members will probably know where I am coming from, while the younger ones will probably find out as they get older...

Isn't Arimistane meant to be more of an Estrogen blocker?

DAA, Yohimbine, Tongkat Ali/Longjack, Ashwaganda, Mucuna puriens... don't know how many are legal here other than the DAA

Arimistane (Androsta-3,5-diene-7,17-dione) is a metabolite of 7-Keto DHEA, which does not convert into testosterone or estrogen. In fact, just like the drug Aromasin, arimistane is actually a suicide aromatase inhibitor (AI), so it will permanently bind to the aromatase enzyme and prevent any estrogen rebound. Furthermore, it has also been shown to reduce cortisol, raise LH (luteinizing hormone), and increase testosterone levels.

Just keeping a balanced diet with the good fats and shit will keep you tip top.
Id be taking:
Vitamin D
Fishoil (the right one).
Maybe give DAA a whirl also.
Melatonin - sleeping enough also helps keep your levels nearer to your max/optimal level.

You already eat well if I'm not mistaken. Hows your sleep?

Tim.

DAA is cheap as, so wouldn't do any harm.

Lots of green veggies, broccoli, spinach etc.
Healthy fats from things like egg yolks, tuna, salmon.
Zinc and foods high in zinc like shellfish, oysters, beans (kidney, white etc), probably even beef to a certain extent

Diet is pretty good depending what you call good, I don't eat much rubbish, basic veggies, salad, meat, fish etc.

Sleep might be an issue due to irregular shift work, I need to aim for more sleep, lucky to get 6-7hrs most times, would much prefer 8-9 hours I think.

Id honestly work on that first.
And perhaps gather the ingredients for the stack i listed.

No.

Now, before anyone drops a conniption, there is a difference between something that works and something that appears to work.

There are a number of factors that can drop your test levels. Bad diet, lack of sleep, stress, voting for Trump. So, if you take a "test booster" you might get results, but only results that take you back to your levels if you did not have those stressors in your life. In other words, if you eat right, train, sleep and recover, then no, they don't work.

Its like creatine. If you already have levels that are normal (full), taking creatine will do nothing for you.

If you are a vegan, taking creatine will do wonders for you, as it will take you back to "normal" levels.

So, its kinda like standing there belting yourself on the head with a hammer. It feels real good when you stop, but maybe that ain't the solution.

At your age, you should go have your levels checked. A basic GP will have no idea what they are doing. A TRT doctor will prescribe you anything he can to pay for his next Porsche. So, go to any doc and get them to organise a blood test for you. There is a list somewhere on this forum with what you should ask for, or use The Google. Your levels should be in the upper "normal" range. Don't take any shit from your doc about being "normal for your age". Thats like saying someone is in good health considering that they have stage 4 cancer.

Your levels will probably be low. That does not mean that your libido is low or your ability to have sex is low. Low T and low libido do not necessarily go hand in hand. Just look at all the nutless hipsters who seem to be able to pull chicks.

Once you have your results, then you can organise a TRT regime through a doctor that knows what they are doing. That's the hard part, finding a competent GP. A specialist will cost you an arm and 3 legs so best to find one that is a GP.

If you are playing a drug tested sport you will need to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption, just like Serena Williams. On the ASADA web site they say that you need to get your doctor to fill in a form. That's a lie. They will reject any application unless it's filled in by a specialist. But all that may not apply.

Get it tested. You will feel much better, mostly mentally, once you get it all working again.

There are 2 things they don't tell you with test boosters, well 3 really.
1. Temporarily boosting test doesn't correlate to muscle growth.
2. Test boosters will only have a small effect if you're actually low.
(3. If they worked, they wouldn't be legal).

So unless you know or at least suspect you're low, they will do zero for you. However there are cheap and easy ways to naturally boost test if low.
- Get more sunlight/Vitamin D. Almost all of us are low in Vitamin D. You can get a 3 month's supply from any chemist for $10.
- Eat food high in zinc/take a zinc vitamin. Like above, a 100 pill bottle is around $10. You can usually find zinc and Vitamin D combined in the single pill. These 2 are the main active ingredients in test boosters anyway, you're just paying 10x as much.
- Get more sleep.

So really it's not about maximising test, but eliminating ways that suppress it.

my feelings are if everything is working, you are ok, I think lifting heavy weights is key to maintaining youthfulness.

dont mess around with your testosterone levels.

some of my friends look bloody awful, they live quite well, but they don't workout and if they do it's not very well.

grow old gracefully

As an aside If you are not flogging yourself with the weights you shouldn't eat like you are.
but I digress.

a good diet is very much underrated . Especially with all the crapola you see in magazines

Arimistane is now banned by WADA. See woodys thread.

Must work....

[*]Arimistane was added as a new example of aromatase inhibitor under category S4. Hormone and metabolic modulators and higenamine was added under category S3.Both are prohibited substances that have been found in dietary supplements.
[*]GATA inhibitors and Transforming Growth Factor-B inhibitors were added to category S2. Peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics

Test Boosters

YES: Eggs, or egg yolks/cholesterol and throw the whites away if they cause your stomach to bloat as the whites coagulate in the same way that "glue" dairy protein called casein does..., hence bodybuilders take it before bed as it's very hard to digest and is likewise very slowly assimilated into the body. Not for me thanks.

YES: Saturated fats and mono-unsaturated fats.

HUGE NO: Polyunsaturated fats in the form sold in those bottles that flood our supermarket isles. Also a big no no to anything that says margarine (especially if it says poly or mono)..., as both of these fatty acids ought to be in liquid form and not in solid form as is evident by the solid content of your margarine tub. That's called hydrogenated fatty acids...adding a hydrogen atom where there was non, and in the process creating an unnatural man made cancer causing agent!

DO NOT TRUST: The heart healthy tick..., in fact if you see it, do not buy the item, as more than likely the reward has been presented due to the product having low to no fat or low unsaturated fat and high in that "heart healthy inflammation causing" polyunsaturated poison!

OMEGA 3 FISH OIL: I know many (even on this forum) swear by it, but you'd have to put a gun to my head for me to take that rancid and therefore skin wrinkling and "aging before your time" garbage. Did I mention cancer causing? Well that's a given since the oil is so damn perishable due to its extremely high instability (the opposite of saturated fats), that it's off even before it makes it into that gelatinous capsule you find it in. For activated (or preformed omega3 oil), eat your sardines and red salmon and the like. They are full of intact cofactors that serve to maintain the goodness of that very sensitive oil...cofactors such as selenium for starters.

Forgot to mention, one of the richest sources of natural choline in any food is to be found in the incredibly powerful egg yolk. It puts cortisol to sleep and helps you indirectly in growing muscles. The more you investigate the yolk of a hen's egg, the more you're amazed by the wondrous attributes of its powerful ingredients; a symphony of individual components that come and work together to create a baby chicken.

RED MEAT AND BONE BROTH: Also , don't skimp on liver as it's one hell of a nutrient dense food par excellence!

DRINK ENOUGH WATER, as nothing (and I do mean not a single interaction) would ever take place within our body without it.

That's all I can think of at the moment Mick.

Some very good stuff here.

I have not had margarine for decades, I refuse to have it, reason being, I did some work in a Margarine factory a long time ago, came home from work the first day and threw the margarine in the bin, have only used butter since.

Have not had any fish oil tabs for many years either, due to learning about the rancid fats in them.

I don't have a lot of eggs, but I have never thrown out the best part, the yolk is where all the goodness is, learned that back in the 80's, it amazes me that people insist on throwing the yolks out and eating the waste. (white).

I could probably drink more water.
